Mosinee 6, Clintonville 2

CLINTONVILLE – The Truckers were defeated at home by Mosinee on Friday, April 26.

Clintonville pitcher Hannah Baird finished with seven strikeouts with zero walks.

Allyson Schwietzer had two doubles at the plate for the Truckers.

Hortonville 5, New London 1

PULASKI – Hortonville defeated New London in the first game of a tournament in Pulaski on Saturday, April 27.

Hortonville’s Hannah Meshnick threw seven innings and allowed one run on four hits with zero walks and five strikeouts.

Polar Bear hitters Emily Nelson and Laken Schmidt each had two hits. Schmidt had a home run with three RBIs.

For New London, Paeton Kringel finished with two hits and drove in the Bulldogs’ lone run.

Kringel threw five innings and allowed five runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout.

Hortonville 2, Pulaski 1

PULASKI – In Hortonville’s second game in Pulaski, the Polar Bears beat the home team by a run in nine innings.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Paige Meshnick bunted to score Ellenie Hills from third base for the game-winning run.

Emily Cliver threw all nine innings for Hortonville and allowed one run on five hits and zero walks with 12 strikeouts.

Hortonville 4, Johnson Creek 0

PULASKI – The Polar Bears shut out Johnson Creek to win the tournament championship.

Hortonville’s Taylor Lebeck threw seven innings and allowed no runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Emily Nelson hit 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double, while Laken Schmidt finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

New London 13, Menasha 4

PULASKI – The Bulldogs defeated Menasha during the Pulaski tournament.

New London’s Lauren Winkler and Trinity Starks each finished with three hits.

On the mound, Elise Sturgill threw three shutout innings and allowed one hit and two walks with a strikeout.

New London 10, Oak Creek 5

PULASKI – The Bulldogs used a five-run fourth inning to defeat Oak Creek.

Paeton Kringel hit 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored with a home run.

Kringel threw four innings and allowed two unearned runs on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Hortonville 10, Neenah 0

NEENAH – Hortonville shut out Neenah on the road Friday, April 26.

The Polar Bears scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull away.

Emily Nelson hit 4-for-4 with a double, run scored and one RBI.

Hortonville’s Taylor Lebeck threw six innings and allowed two walks and one hit with nine strikeouts.

Freedom 6, New London 3

FREEDOM – The Bulldogs were defeated by Freedom on the road Friday, April 26.

New London’s Paeton Kringel led the team with three hits and a run scored.

Kate Christian hit a home run and finished with two RBIs.

Elise Sturgill threw six innings and allowed six runs (four earned) on 12 hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Hortonville 9, Oshkosh West 4

OSHKOSH – The Polar Bears went on the road and beat Oshkosh West on Thursday, April 25.

Hortonville scored eight runs in the final three innings to pull away for a five-run victory.

Emily Nelson hit 2-for-4 with a run scored, walk and RBI, while Maggie Werner finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two walks, a double and drove in two runs.

Little Chute 10, Clintonville 0

CLINTONVILLE – The Truckers were shut out at home against Little Chute on Thursday, April 25.

Sasha Carrillo had Clintonville’s lone hit of the game.

Hortonville 4, Kimberly 3

HORTONVILLE – The Polar Bears scored a single run in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to beat Kimberly on April 23.

Emily Cliver threw 4 1/3 innings for Hortonville and allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

Cliver, Taylor Lebeck, Caitlin Niemann and Delaney Schanhofer each finished with two hits for Hortonville.

Shawano 3, New London 2

NEW LONDON – The Bulldogs were defeated by Shawano on April 23.

New London was limited to four hits with one from Paeton Kringel, Maribel Glodowski, Kate Christian and Lauren Winkler.

Kringel threw seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Waupaca 9, Clintonville 5

CLINTONVILLE – The Truckers were defeated by Waupaca on April 23.

Clintonville had four players finish with two hits with Tarah Malotky, Tessa Doornink, Abby King and Abby Schrieber.

King also drove in two runs for the Truckers.

Hortonville 9, Appleton North 0

APPLETON – The Polar Bears beat Appleton North on the road April 22.

Laken Schmidt hit 3-for-4 with two runs scored and was hit by a pitch. Caitlin Hiemann finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk and three RBIs.

Hannah Meshnick threw all seven innings and allowed no runs on three hits and a walk with nine strikeouts.

Hortonville 6, Wisconsin Rapids 1

STEVENS POINT – The Polar Bears defeated Wisconsin Rapids in Stevens Point on April 20.

Emily Nelson, Hailey Wenzel and Caitlin Niemann each had two hits for Hortonville.

Taylor Lebeck threw all seven innings and allowed one run on eight hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.

Stevens Point 4, Hortonville 3

STEVENS POINT – The Polar Bears were defeated by Stevens Point on the road April 20.

Hortonville held a 3-1 lead, but Stevens Point scored two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to win.

Hannah Meshnick threw 6 1/3 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk with a strikeout.

Caitlin Niemann hit 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hortonville 8, Appleton West 3

APPLETON – The Polar Bears scored seven runs in the sixth inning to beat Appleton West on April 19.

Emily Cliver threw seven innings and allowed three runs on seven hits and zero walks with nine strikeouts.

Laken Schmidt, Caitlin Niemann, Delaney Welson and Hailey Wenzel each had two hits.
