Wolves get 6-3 victory

Manawa’s baseball team handed Weyauwega-Fremont a 6-3 loss May 7 in Weyauwega.

Manawa took a 4-0 lead with single runs in each of the first four innings, but the Indians cut into the league with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Wolves completed the scoring with two unanswered runs in the sixth.

Bo Witkowski had two of Weyauwega-Fremont’s five hits. Mason Marquette, Kolden Baehman and Tyler Wetzel scored the Indians’ runs.

The Indians game in Keshena against Menominee Indian scheduled for May 9 was postponed. The team is scheduled to face Berlin and Winnebago Lutheran Saturday, May 11, in Berlin, with games scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m.

Manawa’s doubleheader in Bowler scheduled for May 9 was postponed. The Wolves will play at Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14.
