A camper exploded at Farmer Gene’s Campground in Marion on Wednesday, May 15.

Marion Area Fire Department and Clintonville Ambulance were dispatched around 2:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, one camper was fully engulfed in flames along with a storage shed, trees, leaves and a neighboring fence. A camper at an adjoining site had started on fire.

Firefighters knocked the fire down quickly to prevent spread to nearby storage buildings and campers.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Foul play does not appear to be a factor.

Also assisting at the scene was the Waupaca County Sheriff Office and the Clintonville and Manawa fire departments.
