Saari named superintendent

Waupaca School Board selects new district administrator

The Waupaca School Board selected Ron Saari as the new district administrator.

He will begin his new position on July 1.

Saari is currently the Potosi School District superintendent in southwestern Wisconsin.

He brings 22 years of administrative experience to Waupaca, 10 as a building principal and 12 as a superintendent.

Prior to becoming an administrator, Saari was an eighth-grade science teacher and a fifth-grade teacher.

Saari received his bachelor’s degree in education and master’s degree in educational administration from Northern Michigan University.

Stephen Johnson, president of the Waupaca School Board Board, said, “We welcome Mr. Saari to the district and our community. There were many strong applicants for the position and the board of dducation believes Mr. Saari is the best fit for our district as we continue our commitment to Excellence in Education.”

The school board vote in favor of Saari was unanimous.

“The board would like to thank district staff and community members who took the time to participate in our focus groups and interviews,” Johnson said.

“My experiences as a superintendent have provided me with opportunities to effectively lead and improve student outcomes,” Saari said. “I have extensive experience working with staff, administration, board members, students and community members in the creation of collaborative strategic plans for continuous improvement.

“I look forward to continuing the strong educational practices I see being initiated in Waupaca, and to lead the district into the future. My family and I are excited about this opportunity and our future as members of the community of Waupaca.”
