Homecoming carnival returns to Hortonville

Food, rides and entertainment at Alonzo Park

The Hortonville Civic Association will hold the annual Hortonville Homecoming celebration at Alonzo Park Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1.

Friday’s activities, including carnival rides, will open at 3 p.m. and run until 11 p.m.

The civic association will serve barbecue chicken meals Friday night while singer songwriter Grayling Pingel performs on stage.

Saturday’s events begin at 10 a.m.

The HASband jazz ensemble, comprised of Hortonville Area School District alumni and students, will perform from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food and refreshments will be served in the pavilion throughout the day.

Arts and crafts vendors will display their products across the walking bridge in the nearby Black Otter Park.

From 7-10 p.m., the band Sonic Circus will perform.

Hortonville Civic Association President Peter Olk said all proceeds from the event stay in the village and are used to upgrade the parks facilities.

To date, the association has contributed over $7,000 to upgrade the infrastructure in Alonzo Park.

“Major plans are underway to build a swimming pond and a splash pad play area. We hope to see you there, and we look forward to your help in supporting these aggressive projects,” Olk said.
