Construction begins on State Highway 156

Slated to last through September

Construction to upgrade deteriorating pavement on State Highway 156 began on Monday, June 10.

The $2.5 million project spans from the Shawano County line to State Highway 22 in Clintonville.

Work includes asphalt resurfacing, repainting of the bridges over the Embarrass River and the Wolf River, upgrades to storm sewer and culvert pipes, concrete surface drains, sidewalk, guardrail, signing and pavement marking.

State 156 will remain open to a minimum of one lane of traffic at all times.

Temporary traffic signals will be used on the bridges over the Embarrass River and Wolf River from approximately June 10 to Aug. 29.

All other work will be conducted under lane closures with flagging operations.

Construction is scheduled for completion by September. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
