Speaker examines Arab-Israeli conflict

Winchester Academy hosts Tim Crain on June 17

Tim Crain

Dr. Tim Crain will present “Arab-Israeli Conflict: Major Challenge in the Modern Era” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.

This free program is part of the All-Stars Summer series sponsored by Winchester Academy.

Crain is returning to Waupaca by popular demand.

The conflict between the Israeli and the Arab world has continued for 100 years, and there is no solution in sight, according to Crain.

Over the past 50 years, the struggle has debilitated into more of an Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as most of the Arab nations have lost interest.

What has made resolution even more difficult is that both sides have legitimate claims to the same territory.

In his presentation, Crain will review the past and present relationship of the two entities and project to the future, attempting to review what steps can be taken to resolve the ongoing strife between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Tim Crain is professor and director of the National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

This program is open to the public.

Cookies and coffee are served at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.

Winchester Academy program expenses are funded through sponsors and tax-deductible donations.

Crain’s program is co-sponsored by Jack and Glenda Rhodes, Neuville Motors and Bank First.
