Missing Dale mother, daughter found safe

The mother and daughter from the town of Dale who went missing last weekend were found safe three days later on Wednesday, June 19, according to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said in statements that Jill Rousseau, 55, and Jordan Rousseau, 21, are “no longer believed to be in danger” and have returned home.

The women left together on their own and were tracked down in Madison by law enforcement, Sgt. Nathan Borman said.

The sheriff’s office declined to release further information and will not take action on the matter because the investigation is closed, Borman said.

“We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support from the community,” Borman said in a statement. “Word spread quickly and the concern was clearly visible.”

During a press conference outside the family’s Menasha business Wednesday afternoon where husband and father Kelly Rousseau pleaded for his family’s return, he said people showed their support by helping with searches and organizing a prayer vigil that was later held that night in Neenah.

“There’s been a huge outpour, and the support, it’s amazing,” he said.

Kelly Rousseau learned from sheriff’s deputies his family were found as the prayer vigil was wrapping up. He expressed relief to news media after the vigil but was not able to offer details.

Kelly Rousseau had said during the press conference the only explanation he could see for his wife’s and daughter’s disappearances was they were abducted.
