Woman charged with felony child abuse

Suspect accused of punching 13-year-old girl

Justine N. Radaj, 35, Waupaca, is charged with felony child abuse – intentionally causing harm, disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, Waupaca Police Officer Brent Wittman met with a 13-year-old girl who said her friend’s mother beat her up.

The incident allegedly occurred in the parking lot by the Waupaca Recreation Center.

According to the criminal complaint, security video shows Radaj pushing the girl down, then pulling her up by the hair and punching her in the face multiple times.

Radaj was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

She faces up to six years in prison if convicted of felony child abuse.

At the time of the incident, Radaj was out on a $500 signature bond for charges of operating without a license, operating without insurance and retail theft.

On Jan. 23, 2018, Radaj was sentenced to five months in jail for obstructing an officer.
