Food truck start delayed

Hours of South Park project also changed

The start of Waupaca’s weekly food truck rally in South Park has been pushed back one week.

It is now beginning on Thursday, July 18, instead of on Thursday, July 11.

Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Whitman said it is starting a week later due to some difficulties reaching food truck owners and organizing the event.

The hours it will be held in the park’s upper level are also changing.

The event is now set to run from 4-8 p.m. each Thursday.

Initially, the food truck rally was going to be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Whitman said most could not make it during the day.

The food truck rally is running on Thursdays through Aug. 29.

However, there is not one on Aug. 15, when preparations are underway in the park for the annual Waupaca Area Triathlon.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is managing the food truck rally this summer.

The seasonal fee to be involved this year is $75.

Food trucks must have all applicable state and county licenses and be fully insured.

They are also responsible for their own electricity, water and cleaning up after themselves.

Other food trucks interested in participating may email Whitman at [email protected] or call him at 715-258-4435.
