Based on the Broadway production and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s “The Lion King” is a show about identity, family and responsibility. It features songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice.

“The Lion King” is the story of Simba, a lion cub who is next in line to be king of the Pride Lands in the African savanna.

When Simba’s father Mufasa is killed by his uncle Scar, Simba runs away and Scar seizes power.

Riley Nusz is Mufasa and Parker Wohlrabe has the role of Scar.

Other characters include Allison Wolff as the baboon Rafiki, Miranda Bruno as the hornbill Zazu, Dhara Martin as Nala and Avaya Adamczak as the young Nala.

Leah Fletcher will direct “Lion King Jr.” Previously she directed Waupaca Community Children’s Theater’s productions of “High School Musical” and “Shrek.”

Doors to the theater will be open half hour prior to the show. All shows have free admission.
