Katie Loehrke, 18, was selected as the 2019 Waupaca County Fairest of the Fair.

Three contestants participated in the competition that took place at the Manawa Masonic Center.

The Waupaca County Fairest of the Fair serves as the official ambassador of the Waupaca County Fair, representing and promoting the fair at local events throughout the year.

The Fairest of the Fair also makes daily appearances during the week of the fair.

Loehrke is the daughter of Keith and Rebecca Loehrke. She is a graduate of Weyauwega-Fremont High School and will be a freshman at UW-River Falls this fall pursuing a degree in agricultural education.

As a member of the Lind Center Beavers 4-H Club and Weyauwega-Fremont FFA she held numerous leadership roles and attended activities. This summer she is serving as an intern for Seneca Foods.

“I have been involved with the fair for more than a decade and I am very excited to now serve as the 2019 Fairest of the Fair,” said Loehrke. “I am so thankful for this opportunity and am looking forward to giving back to the local community while gaining countless experiences.”

The selection process included an individual interview, group interview and a variety of on-stage questions.

Other contestants were Keyara Berrig of Waupaca and Maggie Elliott of New London.

Loehrke will be officially crowned on Thursday, Aug. 22, during the Waupaca County Fair.
