The New London Clippers Legion baseball team will compete in the state tournament for the second consecutive season.

The Clippers advanced by defeating Hortonville 6-1 in the regional championship on Tuesday, July 23.

New London responded with three runs in the top of the second inning to give the Clippers their first lead of the game.

New London added a single run in the third, fourth and sixth innings to pull away for the victory.

Clippers’ head coach Jim Thorpe said the defense made the difference making many great plays supporting Logan Locy on the mound.

Locy threw all seven innings and allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts.

Locy, Connor Brinkman and Briley Johnson each hit 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Myles Parker reached base with three walks and had two stolen bases.

Landon Guyette drove in two runs.
