Two charged for drugs

Evidence of burglary found during meth bust

Joseph E. Phalen Jr., 28, Clintonville, and Desiree Schuelke, 22, Embarrass, are charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Phalen is also charged with burglary and concealing stolen property.

On Tuesday, July 30, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Embarrass where Phelan and Schuelke had a bedroom on the second floor.

According to the criminal complaint, officers found 0.4 grams of meth and 0.77 grams of marijuana, along with pipes and a .22-caliber revolver in the bedroom.

Phelan is also charged for his alleged involvement in a burglary at Wait Auto Sales in Clintonville on April 19.

The auto dealer reported that hand and power tools, a battery charger, jack and stands, and keys to cars on the lot were stolen.

As part of their investigation into this and other burglaries, officers questioned Anthony Luckow, 34, Clintonville.

Luckow reportedly told that he gave a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun to Phelan from one break-in and that Phelan helped with the break-in at Wait Auto Sales.

While questioning Phelan  on July 30, investigators learned that Phelan may have stashed items stolen from the auto dealer and some stolen guns at his mother’s home in Clintonville.

Investigators later found two duffle bags with stolen items and three guns at Phelan’s mother’s home.

Phelan and Schuelke have been released on $2,000 signature bonds.
