Criminal sentencing

Recent convictions, sentencings and dismissals from Waupaca County felony cases.

• Judge Raymond Huber sentenced Shawen M. Jones, 33, Pine River, to three years in prison and five years of extended supervision.

Jones was convicted of felony delivery of narcotics.

Huber dismissed outright a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.

On Feb. 26, Waushara County Circuit Court revoked Jones’ probation for misdemeanor bail jumping and sentenced him to nine months in jail.

• Judge Troy Nielsen sentenced Tina L. Bueschel, 48, Weyauwega, to 18 months in prison and 18 months of extended supervision.

Bueschel was convicted of a sixth drunken driving offense.

Nielsen also ordered Bueschel to pay $4,651 in fines and court costs and install an ignition interlock device on her vehicle for 36 months. He also revoked her license for 36 months.

• Huber sentenced Kevin L. Mathison, 42, Rhinelander, to 30 days in jail.

Mathison was convicted of felony failure to report to jail on July 23.

On March 20, 2014, Mathison was convicted of a second drunken driving offense and sentenced to 40 days in jail with 33 days stayed with the condition that he participate in a treatment program.

Mathison did not go to the program or to the jail.

On July 9, 2014. Mathison was charged with failure to report to jail.

He failed to make court appearances on Nov. 18 and Dec. 2, 2014. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Mathison was arrested in December 2016.

On Jan. 17, 2017, Mathison entered into a deferred prosecution agreement on the failure to report charge.

That agreement was revoked on Jan. 8, 2019. Huber sentenced him to 80 days in jail to be served in either Waupaca or Oneida county and Mathison failed to report, again.

He is now residing in Waupaca County jail.

Oneida Circuit Court also sentenced Mathison to nine months in jail on April 17 for a narcotics conviction.

• Huber placed Jaydin D. Pankow, 38, Waupaca, on two years of probation.

Pankow was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer. Two felony counts of interfering with child custody were dismissed but read into the court record for sentencing purposes.

Huber also ordered Pankow to pay $2,636 in court and extradition costs.

Pankow took her two children to Fargo, North Dakota, where she was arrested after their fathers complained to police.

• Nielsen placed Kenneth W.A. Hemingson, 35, Iola, on five years of probation and ordered him to serve 15 days in jail.

Hemingson was convicted of possession of heroin with intent to deliver.

He spent 88 days in jail on a $5,000 cash bond prior to his conviction.

• Huber imposed and stayed 60 days in jail and placed Allen R. Sharp, 21, Weyauwega, on one year of probation.

Sharp was convicted of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Two counts of delivery of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute near a park, and maintaining a drug trafficking place were dismissed but read into the record.

Huber also ordered Sharp to pay $993 in court costs and drug buy money.

• Nielsen placed Jonathan S. Pomerenke, 19, Scandinavia, on 36 months of probation.

Pomerenke was convicted of possession of marijuana, two counts of misdemeanor theft and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

Additional charges of contributing to the delinquency of a child, misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record.

Nielsen also ordered Pomerenke to pay $1,792 in court costs, obtain a high school equivalency degree and maintain full-time employment.
