Clintonville group seeks funding

More space needed for names on Veterans Memorial

The 10-year-old Veterans Memorial in Clintonville is raising funds for a required expansion.

All positions on the existing memorial have been filled.  The committee has received requests to honor additional veterans but cannot due to lack of space.

Plans are to construct an additional wall segment to the left of the existing structure with space for several hundred more veterans.

The estimated cost is about $55,000.

Committee Chairman Chuck Manske said he would like to get started on the addition soon, as the construction season is flying by.

Manske said the committee has raised about half of the required funding and hopes the community will continue to show how much we appreciate our veterans by making a contribution.

Checks can be mailed to City Hall at 50 10th St., identified as being for the Veterans Memorial.

Bricks in the wall honoring a specific veteran can be purchased for $150.

Engraved sidewalk pavers may also be purchased in larger amounts in support of the memorial. Donation forms are on the city website and are available at City Hall.

For questions, you may contact Manske at 715-460- 4107 or Rich Beggs at 715-823-2772.
