Splittgerber, Carl A.

Carl A. Splittgerber, age 95 of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Care Partners Assisted Living of Appleton.

Carl was born on August 25, 1924 in the Town of Belle Plaine, the son of the late Gust and Alma (Rindt) Splittgerber. He attended grade school in Shawano until he was old enough to help out on the family farm. When Carl left the farm he worked at the feed mill. He then went to work for, and retired from, the City of Shawano. On June 7, 1947, Carl married the love of his life, Loies Bonnin, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. The couple was blessed with 72 years of marriage. Carl enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He loved being a grandfather, and did everything with his three grandchildren. Carl is a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church – Town of Belle Plaine.

Left to cherish Carl’s memory are his wife, Loies; his daughter, Donna (Mark) Brehmer, of Neenah; grandchildren, Andrew (Dayna) Brehmer of Oshkosh, Nicole (Scott) Larsen of Omro, and Joshua (Melissa) Brehmer of Oshkosh; great-grandchildren, Kyley Larsen, Noah, Alayna, Rachel, Haleigh, and Reese Brehmer, and Blake and Deklan Larsen; and his sister, Verneille Berkhahn. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carol; his sisters, Viola Boettcher, Mildred Zeman, and Ruth Seifert; and his brother-in-law, George Bonnin.

A funeral service for Carl A. Splittgerber will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church – Town of Belle Plaine. Pastor Todd Jerabek will officiate. Burial will take place in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery – Belle Plaine. Visitation will begin at 10:00 and continue until the hour of service.
