Thunderbirds drop second game of the season

The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbird football team suffered their second loss of the season, losing 37-34 to the Mosinee Indians at home on Friday night.
The T-Birds were first on the board on a 1-yard run by Cole Erdmann.
After a faked kicking attempt, Will Cady ran the ball in for a 2-point conversation to put the T-Birds up 8-0.
Mosinee answered with a touchdown of their own, when Alex Wiedow ran the ball in from 2 yards out.
A kick by Michal Dul ended with first quarter with the T-Birds ahead 8-7.
Mosinee’s quarterback Trey Fitzgerald connected with Cyle Kowalski on a 69 yard pass, for the only score in the second quarter.
The first half ended with the Indians up 14-8.
The Scoring went back and forth in the third quarter, with each team scoring 12 points. Parker Prahl ran a 91 yard kick return for a T-Bird touchdown.
The T-Birds took the lead midway through the final quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by Jaworski.
Then Mosinee reclaimed the lead when Fitzgerald ran the ball from 16 yards out, leaving the Indians ahead 32-28.
With 1:04 left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Cole Erdmann had a 3-yard touchdown run, that allowed the T-Birds to tie the game up at 34-34.
With time running down on the clock, Dul kicked s 32-yard field goal to seal the 37-34 victory.
The T-Birds will begin conference play on Sept. 6 when they travel to Weyauwega-Fremont to take on the Indians.
