Carol Mae (Castner) Dion, age 86, of Manawa, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Manawa Community Living Center.
She was born at home, with her twin bother Calvin Castner, on October 20, 1932 in Willard, WI, daughter of Forrest and Lucille (Boomer) Castner. On July 27, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Dion Sr., in Sacramento, CA and was blessed to share 62 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children: Lorie (Stanley) Kaminski, Donald Dion Jr., Kris (Susan) Dion; grandchildren: Joseph Dion, Peter (Erin) Dion, Janelle (Kaminski) (Nathan) Hoffman, Nathan (Melissa) Kaminski, Katelyn (Kaminski) (Brenden) Bolling, Adam (Kerry) Dion, Garan Dion, Makinna (Dion) (Jacob) Little, Ryan (Tricia) Dion, Kurtis Dion, April Dion; great-grandchildren: Bumble Bea, Juniper and Harbor Hoffman, Birdie Grace Bolling, Luke and Oakley Dion; her sister Pat Rupp; sister-in-law Jane Castner. She is further survived by godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Dion Sr., her sons, Steven Dion and Bryan Dion; her grandson Jared Dion; her parents, Forrest and Lucille Castner; her twin brother Calvin Castner and brother Michael Castner.
Carol was a woman of devout faith, put family first, enjoyed travel, gardening, knitting, reading, volunteering and sharing with others her love of Christ, her friendship, and the bounty of her gardens and fruit trees.

The Funeral Mass for Carol will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Father Xavier Santiago and Father Jose Oh Pimentel (Pepe) officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. A visitation for Carol will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manawa. The Cline & Hanson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
