Alex J. Viste, age 33, of Waupaca, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at his home in Iola, WI.
He was born September 1, 1985 in Waupaca, WI; son of Robert and Linda (McMullen) Viste. Alex graduated from Waupaca High School in 2004. He was a man of facts and theories. Alex loved to read and would tell you about something he just read and ask you for your thoughts. He loved to ride a bike or skateboard. Alex especially enjoyed going swimming with his mother. He was thoughtful and his heart was always in the right place. Alex will be loved and missed by all.
Alex is survived by his parents, Robert and Linda Viste of Waupaca, WI; four siblings: Erik (Rebecca) Viste of Anchorage, AK; Andrew (Sarah) Viste of Waupaca, WI; Elizabeth “Ellie” (Jacob) Oftedahl of Iola, WI, and Anna (Alex Bonnell) Viste of Weyauwega, WI; nieces and nephews: Cole and Emilia Viste, Emree and Liam Oftedahl, and Alden and Addilynn Bonnell; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Viste, and his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Laraine McMullen.
A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Ben Kempfert will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, September 2, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and again on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
