Wolves beat Bears in conference play

The Manawa Wolves defeated the Bonduel Bears 28-14 during their first Central Wisconsin Conference matchup in Manawa on Friday, Sept. 6.
Max Sokolski of Bonduel scored on a 4-yard run giving the Bears a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Bonduel widened the gap to 14-0 when a tipped ball landed in Carson Robaidek’s hands and he ran it in for a touchdown.
The Wolves answered with a touchdown of their own when quarterback Mason Wiesner connected with Riley Krenke bringing the score to 14-7.
With time running down on the clock Bryan Griffin intercepted a pass and ran it back 61 yards tying the game at 14-14 to end the half.
The Wolves got their first lead in the game during the third quarter when Brett Zielke ran the ball in putting Manawa in the lead at 21-14.
Early in the fourth quarter Wiesner connected with Zielke on a 12 yard pass good for another Manawa touchdown and giving them the win.
Manawa will be back in action at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 when they host Oconto.
