Driver charged with OWI homicide

Clintonville man’s brother killed in rollover crash

Cord Lee Guyette, 24, Clintonville, is charged with felony homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, Waupaca County Deputy Clint Schroeder responded to a crash on County Trunk T in the town of Lebanon.

He found the body of Cory Guyette, 25, in a ditch. He had been thrown from the vehicle.

Cord Guyette was trapped in a pickup truck, covered in blood.

Manawa Fire and Ambulance removed Guyette from the truck and began treating him for injuries.

ThedaStar arrived and flew him to a hospital in Neenah.

According to the criminal complaint, Schroeder walked along County T and found tire marks that entered the west ditch about one-quarter mile north of Nicolai Road.

The vehicle returned to the road, overturned, then rolled over until it came to a stop about 500 feet south of Nicolai Road.

Schroeder met with Guyette at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Guyette reportedly said he had approximately six to seven beers throughout the day.

He remembered being at his brother’s house, but did not remember leaving, the complaint says.

Guyette was released from custody after posting a $10,000 cash bond.

He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of OWI homicide.
