Comets shut out Marinette

 

Waupaca to host invitational

Waupaca picked up a North Eastern Conference boys’ soccer win Sept. 26 with a 3-0 win over Marinette at Comet Field.

Sam Nikolai opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 36th minute and Dawson Patzke gave the Comets a 2-0 lead with another unassisted goal 15 minutes into the second half.

Juan Bautista wrapped up the scoring in the 84th minute, with Maison Snell getting credit for the assist.

Goalkeeper Dillan Russell stopped all eight of the Marines’ shots.

Waupaca improved to 2-1 in conference play and will host Wautoma and Medford Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Waupaca Invitational. The Comets will face Wautoma at 9 a.m. and Medford at 1 p.m.
