Man charged with fleeing police

Suspect arrested at gunpoint

Allen K. Overland, 32, Clintonville is charged with fleeing an officer, obstructing an officer and operating after revocation (OAR).

Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, Clintonville Police Officer Cody Rollin was waiting at the stop sign on Beacon Avenue at Seventh Street when he recognized Overland driving a gold Oldsmobile Alero.

Rollin knew Overland from prior professional contacts.

Overland had three active warrants through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Waupaca County and Shawano County.

After Overland turned south onto Beacon, Rollin activated his siren and emergency lights to make a traffic stop.

According to the criminal complaint, Overland accelerated to nearly 85 mph and ran a stop sign.

He turned down a gravel road next to Clintonville Area Waste Services, then onto a grassy pathway.

Overland’s vehicle became stuck in a marshy area near the airport.

He exited the car and ran toward County Trunk I, the complaint says.

Rollin pursued Overland a short distance on foot and captured him at gunpoint.

On June 5, Waupaca County issued a warrant for Overland after he missed a court hearing for an OAR.

On July 23, Shawano County issued a warrant for Overland’s arrest after he failed to appear in court for an OAR.

As of Sept. 27, Overland remained in custody in Waupaca County on a $1,000 cash bond.
