Criminal sentencing

Recent convictions, sentencings and dismissals from Waupaca County felony cases.

• Judge Vicki Clussman sentenced Tyler D. Tushoski, 40, New London, to three years in state prison and three years of extended supervision.

Tushoski was convicted of causing mental harm to a child, felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct. Charges of stalking, three counts of violating a domestic abuse order and misdemeanor bail jumping were dismissed but read into the record for sentencing purposes.

• Clussman sentenced Tyler C. Peterson, 28, Dodge Correctional, to two years in state prison and two years of extended supervision.

Peterson was convicted of felony spitting on a corrections officer.

A charge of battery to an officer was dismissed but read into the record.

Clussman also ordered Peterson to pay $1,951 in restitution and court costs.

He must also serve his Waupaca County sentence consecutively to an Adams County sentence.

On June 2013, Adams County placed Peterson on five years probation for third-degree sexual assault.

After revoking his extended supervision in December 2014, Adams County sentenced Peterson to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision.

In March 2019, Adams County charged Peterson with tampering with his GPS monitoring bracelet. That case is still open.

• Clussman sentenced Phillip J. Curler, 54, Oshkosh Correctional, to one year in state prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

Curler was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a mentally ill victim for an August 2016 incident.

Clussman ordered that Curler’s sentence be consecutive to the sentence he is currently serving.

In July 2001, Milwaukee County sentenced Curler to 12 years in prison and eight years of extended supervision for second-degree sexual assault of a child.

He was released in May 2013, then returned to prison after his extended supervision was revoked.

• Clussman sentenced Nicholas J. Johnson, 31, Dodge Correctional, to one year in state prison and two years of extended supervision.

Johnson was convicted of felon in possession of a firearm.

Clussman also ordered that Johnson’s sentence be served consecutively to any other sentence he is currently serving.

In October 2017, Shawano County placed Johnson on three years probation for identity fraud, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and two counts of felony bail jumping.

Shawano County revoked his probation in May 2019, two months after Waupaca County charged him, and sentenced Johnson to three years in prison and two years of extended supervision.

• Judge Raymond Huber placed Alison C. Roe, 47, Waupaca on three years of probation.

Roe was convicted of possession of methamphetamine.

Three counts of felony bail jumping were dismissed but read into the court record.

As a condition of Roe’s probation, Huber ordered her to participate in any counseling recommended by her probation agent and pay $518 in court costs.

• Huber placed Melissa Sue Dillman, 27, Waupaca, on 18 months of probation.

Dillman was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place was dismissed but read into the record.

Conditions of Dillman’s probation include that she participate in any counseling deemed appropriate by her agent, take only valid prescription drugs and pay $886 in court costs.

• Clussman placed Christopher A. Boutwell, 45, Ogdensburg, on five years of probation.

Boutwell was convicted of felony victim intimidation and misdemeanor battery as acts of domestic abuse.

A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed but read into the record.

As conditions of probation, Clussman ordered Boutwell to serve one year in jail with release privileges, maintain absolute sobriety and have no contact with the victim.

• Clussman placed Cory J. Hillegas, 37, Redgranite Correctional, on two years of probation.

Hillegas was convicted of obstructing an officer, operating after revocation and misdemeanor battery.

Charges of identity fraud and disorderly conduct were dismissed but read into the record.

Clussman also assessed Hillegas $1,329 in court costs.

Hillegas has more than a dozen felony convictions from four different counties.

• Judge Troy Nielsen placed Terry L. McDougal, 38, Waupaca, on two months of probation.

McDougal was convicted of obstructing an officer.

Two counts of felony bail jumping and operating a vehicle without a valid license were dismissed but read into the court record.

In a second case, Nielsen authorized a deferred prosecution agreement on a charge of delivery of cocaine.

If McDougal successfully completes his two years of probation, the cocaine charge will be dismissed outright.

In a third case, Nielsen sentenced McDougal to 30 days in jail with release privileges for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Clussman placed Tabith M. Phelan, 29, Waupaca, on three years of probation.

Phelan was convicted of felony bail jumping and obstructing an officer.

Charges of misdemeanor bail jumping, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct wre dismissed but read into the record.

Conditions of Phelan’s probation include that she maintain absolute sobriety, participate in any counseling recommended by her agent and pay $961 in court costs.

• Nielsen placed Janessa Inderdahl, 35, Wild Rose, on three years of probation.

Inderdahl was convicted of possession of methamphetamine as party to a crime.

Charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect were dismissed but read into the record.

Nielsen also stayed 90 days in jail to be used at the agent’s discretion and ordered Inderdahl to pay $518 in court costs.

In a second case, Nielsen assessed Inderdahl $886 for misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct.

• Nielsen imposed and stayed three years in prison and placed Chadwick M. Beyersdorf, 31, Iola, on three years of probation.

Beyersdorf was convicted of attempted burglary as party to a crime.

Charges of criminal damage to property were dismissed but read into the record.

As conditions of probation, Nielsen ordered Beyersdorf to serve six months in jail with release privileges and pay $1,625 in fines and court costs.

Beyersdorf is currently serving one year in Shawano County jail with release privileges for possession of methamphetamine and felony bail jumping.

• Nielsen placed Ashley J. Guyette, 38, New London, on three yeas of probation to run concurrently with her extended supervision.

Guyette was convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

Charges of possession of narcotics and possession of amphetamine were dismissed but read into the record.

On Dec. 4, 2013, Guyette was sentenced to four years in prison and four years of extended supervision for delivery of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver and felony bail jumping.

• Huber imposed and stayed three years in prison and placed Joe L. Oppor, 54, Iron River, Michigan, on two years of probation.

Oppor was convicted of second-degree reckless endangerment and felony possession of marijuana.

Charges of pointing a firearm at a person, operating a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold were dismissed but read into the record.

As conditions of probaton, Huber ordered that Oppor not consume or possess alcohol or any illegal drugs.

He must also pay $1.036 in fines and court costs.

• Clussman placed Ashli C. Sackette, 23, Appleton, on three years of probation.

Sackette was convicted of burglary.

Charges of escape from arrest and criminal damage to property were dismissed but read into the record.

As conditions of probation, Clussman imposed one year in jail, then stayed eight months and ordered Sackette to pay $844 in restitution and court costs.
