Meth arrests in Marion

Woman busted for drugs twice in two weeks

Margaret J. Boyd, 35, Caroline, is charged in two separate cases with possession of methamphetamine and felony bail jumping.

On Sept. 13, Marion Police Officer Eric Krause responded to Boyd’s residence at 215 Meyer St.

He was investigsting a report that Boyd kept narcotics and used syringes hidden in a safe in her bedroom.

According to the criminal complaint, Boyd said there were needles that had been used to inject meth in the safe.

She reportedly said her cousin had the only key, and Boyd did not have access to it.

Although Boyd gave Krause permission to take the safe, she denied him permission to open it.

Marion police subsequently obtained a search warrant.

When they opened the safe, police reported finding a yellow container with 29 used syringes and a number of plastic containers and gem bags with residue that tested positive for meth.

On Sept. 28, Marion Police Officer Zachary Boyer was patrolling Wallace Park when he saw Boyd in a parked vehicle.

As he approached her, Boyer noticed Boyd making furtive movements.

When she exited the car, Boyer found a needle tucked into Boyd’s waistband.

A small plastic bag with crystal meth fell out of her shirt sleeve, the complaint says.

Boyd remains in custody on a $1,000 cash bond.
