Police called to Brunner Drive in Waupaca

Police say a 60-year-old man shot himself while inside a vehicle near Waupaca Foundry.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, officers responded to a call from 1955 Brunner Drive, Waupaca.

The caller said he shot himself.

When they arrived, police found the man conscious and breathing.

He had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

Police secured the scene and recovered a weapon, as well as a single bullet casing that matched the caliber of the gun.

Gold Cross Ambulance Service transported the man to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Police say that the public was not in danger.

No further information has been released.
