Felony charge follows traffic stop

Revoked driver had four prior OWIs

Connie A. Travis, 55, Scandinavia, is charged with felony bail jumping, operating after revocation and failure to install an ignition interlock device.

On Sept. 24, Wisconsin State Trooper Kendi Linjer stopped a 2010 Pontiac sedan because its windshield was cracked.
Travis was the driver.

When she ran a records check, Linjer found Travis was out on a $5,000 signature bond and her license had been revoked.

On July 9, Travis was arrested and charged for a fifth offense of operating while intoxicated.

She was also cited for refusing to take an intoxication test after her arrest.

As a result, Judge Raymond Huber revoked her license for three years and ordered her to install an IID on all her vehicles.

According to the criminal complaint for the Sept. 24 incident, Travis told Linjer the vehicle belonged to a friend and she was going to pick up her son to take him to an appointment.

Tavis is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 17.
