Iola-Scandinavia’s volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Oct. 10 and also handed Bonduel a Central Wisconsin Conference East Division loss Oct. 8.

Iola-Scandinavia beat Wisconsin Valley 25-14, 25-16 and Tri-County 25-17, 25-8 and needed five games to defeat Bonduel.

The Bears opened the match with 25-21 and 25-18 wins, but the T-Birds answered with 25-21 and 25-16 wins before wrapping up the match with a 15-8 win in the decisive fifth game.

“Bonduel jumped out right away to win the first two sets and our girls took a while to get going,” coach Teresa Kielblock said. “Fortunately, they were able to find a rhythm that worked to win the last three sets. The last three sets really showed that they can dig deep and fight until the end.”

Mackenzie Kielblock led the T-Birds with 15 kills and four aces. Bryanna Kisting added 40 assists and 13 service points, while Lyncoln Podgorny had nine assists, nine service points and four kills; Taylor Kielblock added 38 assists; Emilie Briquelet finished with six blocks and three kills; and Michela Aru had 23 digs and 11 service points.

Tonight was Senior Night,” Kielblock said. “I was really proud of how all the girls worked together to play hard for the seniors. It was a great win.”

The T-Birds hosted New London Oct. 14 and will host Rosholt Thursday, Oct. 17.
