The Haunted Mill returns to The Millstone of Iola Mills on Oct. 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 and Nov. 1.

It is located at 300 N. Main St., in Iola.

The fundraising event has volunteers and actors from Iola-Scandinavia High School’s junior class, who along with their parents, put on a spooktacular event for all to enjoy.

Visitors can expect to experience a high-quality haunting in one of central Wisconsin’s most authentic haunted venues.

“The reason the mill was picked as the haunted house site is because of its dark history of deadly accidents that occurred during the 1900’s paper production,” said Aiyana Kempka. “The Chain O’ Lakes Paranormal has visited frequently in the past 10 years to document the rising activity in the upper levels of the mill, where the accidents have taken place.”

A majority of the activity is related to the first owner’s son and is increasing his connection with the quests who visit the mill.

“He died in the second level of the mill while processing wood, and was decapitated from a mechanical error,” Kempka said.

From construction to wardrobe, acting and props, the junior class has dedicated lots of time to making this year’s Haunted Mill the best one ever.

“Coming together as a class and creating something that the community can enjoy is truly special,” said Katie Cherek.

It would not be possible without Tom Fucik, the mill’s owner, donating the space for the school to use.

“The junior class greatly appreciates his generosity for allowing them to have fun with the community and fundraising at the same time,” said Kempka.

On Oct. 19, the Haunted Mill hours include a slightly milder version (still scary) from 6:30–7:30 p.m. and then a full fright from 7:30–10:30 p.m..

There is full fright from 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, 25, 26, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

On Oct. 27, the lights are being turned on from 2–4 p.m., with a free will donation.

Ticket prices are $5 for ages 12 and under and $8 for ages 13 and up.

To receive $1 off admission, donate a non-perishable food item.

The donations will be given to the local food pantry.
