Wiesner leads the Wolves to a win

Manawa quarterback Mason Wiesner ran the ball for four touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the Wolves to a 55-28 win over the Pardeeville Bulldogs in the first round on regional football on Oct. 25.
Wiesner scored first on a 7-yard run putting the Wolves up 7-0.
In the second quarter, Wiesner once again found the end-zone on two separate runs and connected with Brett Zielke on a 7-yard pass giving Manawa a 28-0 lead at the half.
Pardeeville came out strong in the third quarter when Ty Westbury returned the kickoff 78 yards. The extra point failed, bringing the score to 28-6.
Manawa answered with a touchdown of their own, on a 45-yard run by Wiesner. He also kicked the extra point, giving them a 35-6 lead.
Wiesner later connected with Riley Krenke to widen the gap to 41-6.
The Bulldogs were still putting up a fight, when quarterback Peter Freye connected with Westbury for a touchdown, bringing the score to 41-14.
Manawa’s Jackson Jaeger made the final score in the third quarter on a 60-yard run, giving the Wolves a 48-14 lead in the game.
During the fourth quarter Devin Seth scored for Pardeeville on a short run, bringing the score to 48-20.
Jackson Jaeger later intercepted on Bulldog pass and ran the ball back 53 yards for a Wolves touchdown. Wiesner kicked the extra point and Manawa was up 55-20.
Pardeeville’s Freye connected with Westbury for the final score of the game.
With the win, Manawa advances to level 2 of the playoffs and will host the Coleman Cougars on Nov. 1.
