Teen charged with sex crime

Suspect accused of stealing school Chrome Book

Brady A. Kennedy, 17, Waupaca, is charged in two criminal complaints with two felony counts of sex registry violation, one count of identity theft, and two counts of misdemeanor theft.

According to the criminal complaints, Kennedy is a registered sex offender.

Rules of the registry require Kennedy to report every email address he uses, every website he creates or maintains, every internet user name and public or private internet profile he uses.

On Oct. 20, Waupaca Police Officer Wes Zube received a voicemail from Kennedy’s mother. She said Kennedy had a Chrome Book from Waupaca High School.

The Chrome Book had been reported stolen on Sept. 27.

Kennedy allegedly made multiple attempts to log into the Chrome Book, then was successful by using another student’s name and account.

Zube reported finding that multiple pornographic images had been downloaded using the laptop.

In a second criminal complaint, Kennedy’s mother accused him of stealing her old iPhone.

Investigators found nude images and 60 conversations, almost all related to sex.

Kennedy allegedly requested and sent nude images while sometimes pretending to be a girl.

He was released from custody on a $5,000 signature bond with the conditions that he not possess any pornography or any electronic device capable of giving him access to the internet.
