Exhibit features tatting, crocheting, knitting and weaving

The Waupaca Area Public Library is hosting “Textiles” in its lower-level exhibit room through Dec. 7.

The exhibit features artwork from local artisans, including tatting, crocheting, knitting, weaving and abstract art.

Visitors have the chance to learn how to finger knit and try a spinning wheel.

The library is also hosting a few programs along with the exhibit.

Library Director Peg Burington leads the Make an Apron from a Men’s Shirt workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the lower-level meeting rooms.

The Wisconsin Wool Exchange is in the library’s upstairs engagement area from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, to demonstrate knitting and weaving.

The events are free and require no advance registration.

The exhibit is free to the public and open during regular library hours.
