Jean A Thompson, age 86, passed away late Sunday evening October 27, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Iola, WI.
Jean was born in Waupaca on December 7, 1932 to R. Dale Burns and Adeline (Stoffels) Burns. Jean graduated from Waupaca High School in 1950 and on March 1, 1952, Jean married Walter J. Thompson. They were married 53 years until his passing on March 26, 2005. Jean was also preceded in death by her parents, R. Dale Burns and Adeline (Burns) Forsythe and her two sisters, Joyce (Clifford) Steinke and Shirley Stachura.
Jean is survived by her five children: Edward (Sonja) Thompson, Milwaukee; Laurie (Dennis) Lear, Waupaca; Brenda (John) Hewitt; Waupaca, Charles (Sarah) Thompson, Waupaca; and Melissa (Michael) Fenn, Iola; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Jean is further survived by three sisters-in-law: Crystal Barlow, Violet Wanty, and Irma Miller; a brother-in-law, Clifford Steinke, and a very special nephew, Gary (Lyn) Burns.
Per Jean’s request, there will not be a funeral service, but a private family gathering. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers. They comforted us during this difficult time.
