Christmas Week in Clintonville

Activities include parade, letters to Santa, hidden medallion

The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for Christmas Week.

The annual Christmas parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, with the theme “One Shining Star.”

Organizers are searching for lit and non-lit parade entries. Music on the float is optional.

Any business, 4-H group, non-profit or family can be in the parade.

To participate, call the chamber at 715-823-4606 or email [email protected].

The chamber needs to know the name of the group, whether the float is lit or not, with or without music, and contact information.
No entry is to have Santa or Mrs. Claus on it.

Parade entries will be accepted until 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

Judging will be done prior to the beginning of the parade. Any group or business that would like to have their entry judged will need to be in the line-up no later than 5:30 p.m.

A line-up schedule will be emailed to all entries Monday, Nov. 25.

The parade will run from 11th Street to Fifth Street.

All entries should enter on Memorial Circle with line-up done as they arrive. Chamber Bucks will be awarded in two categories: business and non-profit.

Clintonville firefighters will collect non-perishable items for the food pantry. They will be dressed in their gear pushing shopping carts in the parade to collect donations.

Businesses along the parade route that want to be a collection site prior to the parade should contact the chamber at 715-823-4606 by Friday, Nov. 8. The firemen will stop at your store during the parade and gather any donations.

Letters to Santa

Children are urged to write their letters to Santa at the North Pole.

The North Pole Express mailbox, located by the Community Center at Main and 10th streets, will be available from Monday, Nov. 25, until 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

Include first and last name and an address to receive a reply from Santa.

Christmas Medallion

The search will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25.

The first clue will be displayed on the window of the Chamber of Commerce at 1 S. Main St.

Each Monday for four weeks another clue will be given with the last clue being published on Dec. 16.

Only one medallion will placed within Clintonville city limits, not found indoors and there can only be one winner.

The person who finds the medallion must bring it to the chamber office no later than 2 p.m. Friday Dec. 20.

Upon returning the medallion they will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks.

Tree lighting

The Community Tree lighting ceremony will at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at First State Bank, followed by a Santa meet and greet until 7:15 p.m.

Kelly Trebus with State Farm Insurance will provide free popcorn.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be served and there will be children’s activities.

Appeal Digital Image & Design will take pictures with Santa for $10. All children who come to see Santa will receive a gift bag after their visit.

Jeremy’s Tree Service has partnered with the chamber to raise funds for all of the Clintonville School lunch accounts that have fallen behind with funds. Jeremy’s will match every dollar donated up to $2,000 on the night of the Tree Lighting to help end hunger in local schools.
