Twetan, Eugene “Gene” Vernon
Gene was born in Iola, Wisconsin on October 2, 1947, a son of the late Ruby (Helgeson) and Harris Twetan. Eugene graduated from Iola-Scandinavia High School in 1965. He attended Fox Valley Technical College for Tool & Dye. He worked as a machinist for Allis Chalmers and also worked the family dairy farm for over 38 years. One of Gene’s favorite things to do was to visit with people. He would often frequent the Iola restaurants and always invited friends to stop by the farm. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed all aspects of getting ready for the “Hunt.” You would see him helping people sight in their guns or do a little gunsmithing.
