Miracle on Bridge Street

Manawa celebrates Christmas

By Holly Neumann

The third annual Miracle on Bridge Street will take place beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in downtown Manawa.

“It’s a day all about families,” said Jamie Lane, who helps organize the event. “It has that small town charm and Christmas spirit that radiates joy to everyone who participates.”

There are many free activities for children and families to do together.

A few activities have a small charge.

“I love that every business that participates goes above and beyond to make the day special,” Lane said. “There are two trolleys that will take you around town from a live nativity, elf bowling, crafts, Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus and breakfast with the Grinch.”

New this year will be an ice skating rink, ice sculpture and wood carving.

The day will end with a 5 p.m. parade.

“We hope that people take away the Christmas Spirit,” Lane said. “It’s such an uplifting and happy day. We really hope that it reminds people of what Christmas is about. It’s about enjoying time with the ones you love.”
