Theodore “Ted” J. Smith, age 69, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Waupaca, WI.
He was born December 2, 1950 in Waupaca, WI; son of Ronald and Helen (Frihart) Smith. On November 8, 1969, Ted married Kathryn A. Schultz in Waupaca. He worked as the general manager for Pepsi Cola Company for 38 years. Ted was an avid Packer, Brewer, and Bucks fan and liked to collect their memorabilia. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and will be dearly missed by all of his family and many friends.
Ted is survived by his wife, Kathryn Smith; two children, Chad (Laurie) Smith and Alison Smith; eight grandchildren: Shelby, Bryana, Payton, Haylee, Thomas, Stephanie, Timmy, and Karissa; three great-grandchildren: Miles, Karter, and Colton; eight siblings: Tony “Bones” Smith, Pam (Mark) Smith – Toftum, Rodney Smith, Brian (Terri) Smith, Perry (Heather) Smith, Annie Nicewander, Patti (Paul) Arnold, and Margaret (Dan) Bertram; his mother-in-law, Norma Schultz; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Rex) Pope and Donna (Steve) Wagner; three brothers-in-law: Mike (Joan) Schultz, Bill (Lee) Schultz, and Dave (Jody) Schultz; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Helen Smith; a brother, Michael “Hank” Smith; a nephew, Jessie Kimball; his father-in-law, Merle Schultz; and a brother-in-law, Tom Schultz.
Per Ted’s wishes, no services will be held. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
