Man charged with burglary

Suspect in Price County jail

Robert J. Knaack, 22, Prentice, is charged in Waupaca County with burglary.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Jan. 10.

He is currently in custody in Price County where he was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

On Dec. 16, Waupaca Police Officer Ryan Makuski spoke to a resident on the 700 block of Demarest Avenue who reported someone broke into his garage and stole several tools.

Makuski observed a set of footprints in the snow that led from the garage to a driveway on the 900 block of Eighth Street.

The house on Eighth Street had security cameras.

Video showed two people walking from behind the garage with things in their hands.

When the motion lights came on, the two people began running down the driveway.

On Jan. 6, Waupaca Police Officer Brent Whitman spoke with a Price County detective who said Knaack had been arrested as a suspect in several burglaries.

According to the criminal complaint, Knaack confessed to a burglary in Waupaca while being questioned in Price County.

At the time of his arrest, Knaack was in a van with a bag of tools.

Police say that van matches the one that appears on the security video in Waupaca.
