Driver rescued Tuesday morning
A vehicle crashed into the channel at the intersection of Cleghorn Road and Channel Park Drive in Dayton Tuesday morning.
Waupaca County Deputy Scott Lewis told the Wauapca County Post that a male driver was southbound on Cleghorn Road when he came around the corner in the opposite lane at a high rate of speed, toward another vehicle.
The man attempted to correct his vehicle and left the roadway.
The vehicle went down the embankment and landed on its roof in the channel.
The woman in the other vehicle called 911.
As water started to enter the vehicle, that women and another person jumped into the channel and removed the driver.
No injuries were reported.
The driver was transported home by ambulance.
No names have been released at this time.
