Bonikowske, Margaret “Marge” J.

Margaret “Marge” J. Bonikowske, Manawa, born July 10, 1935, daughter of the late Arnold and Clara (Kleman) Moericke, went quietly home to be with the Lord, with family beside her, on January 19, 2020.

Marge, who gardened in her shorts and tube top, was a talented seamstress, and a fabulous homemaker who raised five children with her husband David on their family farm. Marge married David in Big Falls, Wisconsin on October 17, 1952. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together before his death in 2014. Marge was known for always having a side “marketing” business which she ran from the home. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Ladies Aid, Manawa Snowmobile Club, and enjoyed volunteering with the Symco Thresherman’s Club.

Marge is survived by her children, Steve Bonikowske, Kathryn (Terry) Marchman, Tim Bonikowske, Patti (Craig) Hevner, and Beth (Tim) Voss; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sister-in-law, Luella Moericke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger (Betty) Bonikowske, Bob (Eloyious) Bonikowske, and Ann Bonikowske; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marge is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; sister, Jeanette (Roy) Schmidt; and brothers, Roy Moericke and Donald (Marlene) Moericke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin (Jeanette) Hein, Ben (Lucille) Ferg, and Melvin Boniowske.

The memorial service for Marge will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (742 Depot Street) Manawa, with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather directly at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Margaret’s name has been established.
