Indians pick up third win

Weyauwega-Fremont split recent Central Wisconsin Conference girls’ basketball games with Bonduel and Gresham.
The Indians fell to Bonduel 43-35 Jan. 30 two days after handing Gresham a 35-28 defeat.

Both teams had trouble scoring in the first half, but the Indians were able to take a 14-10 lead into the locker room.
Five three-pointers helped the Bears outscore the Indians 33-21 in the second half.
Julia Rice led Weyauwega-Fremont with 12 points, while Bonduel’s Kara Troxel was the only other player in the game to score in double figures, as she finished with a game-high 17 points.
Weyauwega-Fremont 35, Gresham 28
The Indians held the Wildcats to 14 points in each half.
Weyauwega-Fremont led 19-14 at halftime and outscored the home team 16-14 over the final 18 minutes.
Katie Bleck and Rice led the Indians with 17 and 10 points, respectively.
The Indians will play in Omro at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 and will head to Iola Friday, Feb. 7, for a CWC East Division matchup with Iola-Scandinavia at 7:30 p.m.
