State trooper finds car on road
Donna M. Welch, 64, Weyauwega, is charged with a fifth drunken driving offense and operating after revocation.
Shortly before 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 2, Wisconsin State Trooper Kendi Linjer was westbound on County Trunk X in Mukwa when she observed a silver minivan parked partially in the roadway.
According to the criminal complaint, the driver’s side tires were 8-10 inches left of the fog line.
While inspecting the vehicle, Linjer saw Welch come out of a wooded area.
Welch said she was waiting for a tow truck and had to go to the bathroom, the complaint says.
Welch also reportedly admitted to drinking four beers since 7:30 a.m.
A preliminary breath test indicated Welch had a .07 blood alcohol content.
Welch was released from custody on a $10,000 signature bond.
