Oconto Falls scored the game’s first 19 points, but had to hang on at the end Feb. 11 to get a 43-41 North Eastern Conference girls’ basketball win over Waupaca.

Waupaca used a 16-2 run to cut the Panthers’ lead to 21-16 at halftime.

The Panthers led by as many as nine points in the second half, but the Comets chipped away at the lead and eventually tied the game at 40-40 on Olivia Levine’s basket with 2:26 to go.

However, the Panthers outscored the Comets 3-1 the rest of the game.

Levine led Waupaca with 13 points and Finley Charapata added 11.

McKayla Goebel led the Panthers with 13 points.

Waupaca will close out the regular season at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, by hosting Fox Valley Lutheran.
