Jean A. Johnson, age 64 of Ogdensburg passed away at her sister’s home in the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County on Saturday evening, February 29, 2020.

Jean was born on June 11, 1955 in Clintonville as the daughter of Luella (Georgson) Moericke and the late Roy Moericke. Soon after her graduation from Marion High School in 1973, Jean began working for Krause Publications in Iola. She enjoyed making friends with her many co-workers and later retired in the mid 1990s. On June 25, 1988, Jean was united in marriage to LeRoy Johnson at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Clintonville. The couple enjoyed many years together prior to LeRoy’s passing in 2016. In her spare time Jean enjoyed crafting, working in her flower beds, listening to music, dancing, had a passion for horseback riding, and looked forward to a great sunrise with a cup of coffee in hand. Jean was her family historian and often followed her sentences with “tis true” or “indeede”. She loved her family as they loved her. Jean had a strong faith in her Lord and enjoyed her Bethany family over the years.

Survivors include: her mother, Luella Moericke; siblings: Pam (Dan) Holbrook, Missy (Dan) Miller, Lori (Greg) Peterson, Royce Moericke, Eric (Tammy) Moericke, Lee Moericke, Sarah (Randy) Besler, and Bill Moericke; step-children: Bradley (Jennifer) Johnson, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Adam) Wiebe, Heather (Mark) Tiseling, and Benjamin Johnson; and 16 step-grandchildren. Also numerous other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her father Roy Moericke, husband LeRoy Johnson, a brother Michael Moericke, a niece Rosalee Holbrook, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Alta and Theodore Johnson, a sister-in-law Annette Moericke, and brothers-in-law Teddy and Ronald Johnson.

Jean’s memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 264 N. Main Street, Clintonville, WI 54929 with Rev. Kurt Hettinga officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Iola in the spring. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established by Jean’s family. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is entrusted with Jean’s arrangements. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
