County closes senior meal sites

Home-delivery still available

Waupaca County Department of Health and Human Services temporarily suspended its senior nutrition sites beginning Monday, March 16.

Seniors and individuals with pre-existing medical conditions are at greatest risk for complications from COVID-19.

This decision was made with the health of all nutrition program participants, volunteers, and staff in mind, according to organizers.

Waupaca County has been receiving daily updates from Wisconsin Department of Health and guidance from state Nutrition Program staff on nutrition program operations during this public health situation.

Senior nutrition site participants will be offered home-delivered meal service, if they are interested and in need, during this temporary closing of the meal sites.

Home-delivered meal participants will continue to receive delivery service.

Due to the rapidly changing nature of this public health situation, a timeline for how long senior dining will be suspended is unknown.
