Schuelke returns to court

Woman faces more drug, bail jumping charges

Alyssa C. Schuelke, 21, Clintonville, is charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs, two counts of felony bail jumping and three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.

On Sunday, April 5, Waupaca Police officers Tom Grant and Randy Busch observed Schuelke and a friend enter the home of Paul W. Samolyk, 55, at 303 N. Division St., Waupaca.

According to the criminal complaint, Schuelke was prohibited from being at that address.

On Jan. 16, police executed a search warrant at Samolyk’s home and seized narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Samolyk was charged with maintaining a drug house.

He was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond with the condition that he have no contact with Schuelke.

Schuelke was charged with possession of narcotics and released from custody after her aunt posted a $1,00 cash bond.

A condition of the bond was that she have no contact with 303 N. Division St.

Finding Schuelke

On April 5, Samolyk invited Grant and Busch into his home.

While Samolyk and Schuelke’s friend were in the front room, the officers did not see Schuelke.

They began searching for her.

Grant and Busch went into the basement, where they found what appeared to be Schuelke’s jacket and belongings.

Among her belongings, the officers reported finding a bottle of gabapentin capsules, a prescription drug for seizures and pain caused by shingles.

They also found new syringes and two doses of narcan.

The prescription was for a 54-year-old man who lives at the Waupaca Hotel on Union Street.

Officer Busch eventually found Schuelke hiding behind a bathroom door, the complaint says.

When asked about the capsules, Schuelke reportedly said she gave the man from the Waupaca Hotel a ride the previous day and he left them in her bag.

She later said she “accidentally” took the pills, the complaint says.

Schuelke also said she found and swallowed two cyclobenzaprine pills loose on the floor at the Division Street house.

Used primarily for muscle pain, the pills were apparently prescribed to Samolyk.

Samolyk was charged with felony and misdemeanor bail jumping as a result of his contact with Schuelke.

Schuelke was released from custody on a $2,000 signature bond.

She currently faces two felony and three misdemeanor criminal cases in Waupaca County.
