Libraries stay connected

Online materials available

By Ellen Connor

Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa, like all public libraries in the state, is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it may not be possible to visit the library and check out materials to take home, it is still possible to use your public library during this unprecedented time.

Everything you’ll need to gain access to online materials can be found by going to www.infosoup.org. You will find access to OverDrive for electronic books and downloadable audiobooks and RB Digital, a portal for popular magazines.

Library staff recommend downloading the Libby app from your app store to use Overdrive. This user-friendly app will have you downloading your favorite titles in no time. Remember when prompted to choose “Infosoup Libraries” from the drop-down menu when getting started in Libby.

Infosoup.org will also give you access to a variety of other databases that might assist you during this time.

If you can’t remember your library card number, need assistance with your password or want to get registered for a card to use online materials, library staff are answering the phone remotely, so don’t hesitate to call 920-596-2252. If someone does not answer, you will be able to leave a message with the library’s voicemail.

Library staff are also checking email everyday, so you can also direct any questions to [email protected]. And if you aren’t already, follow us on Facebook at Sturm Memorial Library, where you will see links to helpful resources to use during this time.

The library’s WiFi is available in the parking lot. Choose “Library Guest” when ready to access this service.

We are working hard to stay connected with our users and continue to deliver as many services as we can under the present circumstances. Stay safe, stay well, stay home and we’ll all meet again at the library soon.

Ellen Connor is the director of the Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa.
