Michael Richard Zingler of Wellton, AZ died March 17, 2020 in Yuma, AZ at the age of 78.
He was born January 02, 1942 in Clintonville, WI to Victor (Lefty) and Rita (Brahan) Zingler. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1960 to 1964 in Viet Nam and Thailand. He started his career in telephone and retired from GTE (Verizon) after 29 years. Michael was an outstanding high school basketball player with the Clintonville Truckers. He loved all sports from playing sand lot hard ball with his cousins, pole vaulting in high school, bowling, and playing on many softball and slow pitch teams. Michael was a lifelong member of the Elks, Antigo Lodge #662 and later transferring to Yuma Lodge #476.
Surviving Michael is his wife of 26 years, Audrey; children, Martin (Yvette) of San Antonio, TX, and Mark (Maria) of Rothschild, WI; his grandchildren, Michaela, Maxwell and Magdalena. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Jane Davidson, Milwaukee and Kathy Olk, Oshkosh; three brothers, Pat, Eagle River; Peter (Pam), Wausau and Robert, Clintonville; also, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his former wife Julie Zingler. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mike and daughter Michelle, three brothers-in-law, Raymond Boettcher Jr., Robert Davidson and Tom Olk.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held later this summer in Wisconsin.
