Malueg resigns from Wega PD

Officer to become sheriff’s deputy

Justin Malueg has resigned from the Weyauwega Police Department to take a position with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.

The Weyauwega Common Council accepted his resignation when it met on April 21.

He was a full-time officer with the department.

His last day working for the city was April 25.

“I want to offer you my sincere thanks and appreciation for everything you have done for me. I will be forever grateful. The city of Weyauwega and the Weyauwega Police Department will always hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life,” Malueg wrote in a letter to Police Chief Gerald Poltrock and Sgt. Brandon Leschke.

The council also voted on April 21, to hire Elmer Keberlein as a full-time officer, beginning April 26.

He had been a part-time officer for the city the past several years.
